Senior Process Engineer

General:

The task of the senior process engineers is to define, determine, develop and maintain the process related activities associated with new projects and modifications of existing facilities liaise closely with the other disciplines within the engineering department. The senior process engineer works in the inter discipline verification (HAZOP, SIL) of PFD’s, P&ID’s, and layouts / calculations, to define system boundaries requirement for commissioning purposes in close cooperation with the project engineering. Beside projects the responsibility of the process engineering is to update the Company’s specifications and procedures to meet the relevant safety standards.

The projects and tasks to be processed are provided by the engineering manager, the outcome to be agreed before issuing. The dedicated data for the studies are provided by the project engineering.

Primary Functions:

The senior process engineer is mainly involved in the early project stages. A close cooperation with the project engineer is required for the dimensioning of the plant. He receives the data from the project engineering and has to simulate and subsequently dimensioning the equipment, pipes and instruments.

The process engineer has to carry out conceptual studies in cooperation with the project engineers.

1. Main tasks are:

• Supervision and execution of process engineering design and associated drafting activities.
• Preparation of conceptual design studies
• Detailed process design and engineering
• Implementation of relevant safety standards
• Simulation and evaluation of process systems
• Design calculations of; (vessel, safety valves and control valves)
• Interface with other engineering disciplines.
• Support fields operations as well as plant modifications
• Assist the project engineer in materials purchase requestions.

2-      Business Qualification:

Degree level in appropriate discipline and minimum of 10 years’ experience in process / project engineering in the oil & gas area.

3-      General Skills:

• Requires a sound knowledge of applicable standards, rules and regulations.
• A good general knowledge and understanding of other engineering disciplines such as project, mechanical and automatization is required.
• The ability to communicate with other engineering disciplines and external agencies at a detailed technical level.
• Presentational skills in order to effectively address formal technical gatherings of any group of peers or external bodies.
• To keep abreast of current technology and regulations in order to keep Company Specifications and Procedures up to date.
• Good English knowledge

4-      EDV Skills:

• Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Experience in Pipes im,Hysis, (Olga)
• The use of project management tools

5-      Organizational Fit:

• Reports to:   Functionally to Process and Mechanical Coordinator.
• Supervises:  Supervise In-house and contractor implemented design work.
