Pharmacy Procurement Officer

Job Description

• Monitor the pharmacy’s needs for medications and medical supplies in coordination with the Pharmacy Chain Manager, Pharmacy Manager, and suppliers.
• Research reliable suppliers for medications and medical supplies, and negotiate the best prices and terms.
• Issue purchase orders for medications and medical supplies and determine the appropriate quantities.
• Ensure the quality of received medications and medical supplies and verify their expiration dates.
• Monitor the timely arrival of orders and ensure there are no stock shortages.
• Monitor inventory levels within the pharmacy and organize storage properly to maintain medication quality.
• Track documents and invoices related to purchases and review them with the accounting department.
• Ensure all purchases comply with health standards and local and international regulations.
• Address complaints related to purchased products and work to find solutions to associated problems.
• Conduct regular supplier evaluations and assessments to ensure continued relationships with trusted suppliers.
• Participate in regular inventory checks and ensure stock matches the records.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• At least 3 years of experience in pharmacy procurement or the pharmaceutical sector.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build professional relationships with suppliers.
• Good knowledge of local and international laws and regulations regarding medications and medical supplies.
• Proficiency in using computer programs such as Excel.
• Strong organizational and management skills.
