Peacebuilding Officer (Community Safety Officer)
Tripoli, Libya
DRC, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified manager to implement peacebuilding, community safety and conflict prevention projects, and lead the community safety team.
About the job : DRC has since 2011 been operating in Libya assisting displaced people, host communities, refugees and migrants with Community Safety, Protection, WASH, Shelter and Economic Recovery activities. Community Safety is a specialized unit within DRC, which strives to identify safety and peacebuilding needs from the perspective of those living in areas with safety risks and communal tension, and to help them find non-violent solutions. Since 2018, DRC has under its Community Safety Sector been working on peacebuilding, strengthening social cohesion, conflict prevention, awareness raising on the risk of weapons for civilians and community-focused security sector reform in Libya. We are looking for at least one Community Safety Officer(s) for its Tripolitania team. You should be excited by meeting and working with local communities across Tripoli, and potentially Tripolitania, and interested in developing and interested in establishing spaces for dialogue, awareness raising campaigns on the risks of weapons, community trainings on conflict management and community focused security sector reform.
