Duties and Responsibilities
This post is located within the Office of The Chief Mission Support of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). The post is located in Tripoli, Libya. The incumbent will be under the overall supervision of the Chief of Service delivery and Supply chain management
The MSS will seek the service of language teacher (native speaker, or at the native speaker’s level of language taught) who will deliver English language courses at Beginner and Intermediate level, for UNSMIL Staff Members. All the courses will be delivered through scheduled in-person sessions.
The Individual Contractor will be responsible for the design of two 30 hour English language courses at different levels (Beginner and Intermediate); to prepare and provide students with supporting learning material; to deliver two English language courses to UNSMIL Staff Members through in-person classes; to continuously assess whether the course is meeting the objectives through evaluation activities, and adjust the course material and the delivery methods accordingly.
Qualifications/special skills
University degree or High School Diploma with a teaching certificate is required.
Minimum two years of working experience in teaching the language as a foreign language is required. Experience with e-learning systems is required.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the Individual Contractor Teaching service advertised, fluency in English and Arabic is required.
NOTE: “fluency equals a rating of “fluent” in all four areas (read, write, speak, understand) and ” Knowledge of” equals a rating of ” confident” in two of the four areas.
