In Libya INTERSOS is active since 2018, operating in 3 bases, across West, East and South. INTERSOS in Libya aims to alleviate suffering of the most vulnerable population groups in Libya, in particular with a focus on access to essential services and strengthen capacity of local authorities, local organizations and communities to prevent and mitigate the effects of the protracted crisis in Libya, developing a protection conducive environment and enhancing community resilience, with programs focused on Education, Protection, Health, WASH/public works and Livelihoods/Food Security.

Purpose/Objectives:
INTESOSO seeks qualified Education Facilitators for non-formal education programs to contribute to the implementation of its education projects in Libya. INTERSOS is experienced in the running of Baity Center in Libya, using education as entry point, adding protection and health services to ensure a more comprehensive service package for the most vulnerable children, youth, girls/women and caregivers/parents. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of education programs and activities in selected schools and Baity Center in one of the target locations: Tripoli, Ajdabiya, Sabha and Brak Al Shati.
Responsibilities/duties:
- Ensure timely and accurate support of children’s access, enrollment, and retention in schools for newly enrolled children and follow up children after enrolment for minimum 6 months.
- Provide support to child’s family/caregiver to ensure that they are aware of the school requirements such as documents needed and how to obtain missing documents till the formal registration of the child in the public schools.
- Conduct awareness sessions and providing guidance to parents on the process of enrolling their children in the formal education system, offering support and advice, addressing obstacles that hinder registration, accompanying parents to schools to ensure their children’s enrollment, overseeing the registration process, and actively working to prevent dropout from formal education.
- Monitor the implementation of different educational activities and entrepreneurship trainings.
- Contribute in NFE program activities (including catch -up, remedial classes, life skill sessions, entrepreneurship training) in targeted schools/Baity Center and outreach activities.
- Supervise and monitor the distribution of learning materials.
- Conduct school needs assessment, as needed, and ensure that learning materials are efficiently used by teachers and students and continuously maintained and well stored.
- Attending and participating in weekly coordination meetings and in training sessions and apply new knowledge and skills in education practice.
- Assisting in the development of the education activities and learning materials, as well as contributing to the selection of teaching and learning materials, equipment, and other instructional materials, ensuring these are enjoyable for learners, focusing on group work and inclusive education.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Education Officer include, but are not limited to, design and implement activities inside and outside the school and Baity Center, as well as supplementary/non-classroom activities.
Reporting
- Responsible for reporting education activities under supervision to the activity coordination and Education officer/specialist.
- Produce trend reports to highlight the needs, challenges, and impact of targeted interventions at quarterly, bi-annual and yearly timeframes
Coordination and Networking
- Work in close coordination with the AC, Education team and other related departments to ensure standards are followed.
Any other task requested in order to achieve the project’s objectives.
Support INTERSOS in the base with any specific legal issues, upon specific request and delegation.
Always ensure confidentiality and conduct all activities respectfully and sensitively to beneficiaries and staff.

Qualification/requirements.
- Mandatory requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in education related subjects, preferably in English language, mathematics, art, sport, and computer science.
- Experience: work experience in education related programs of at least 4 years.
- Job Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrates the ability to assess and analyze students’ achievements to improve teaching and learning methods.
- Demonstrates the ability to modify instructional practices and methods when necessary to promote student progress.
- Demonstrates the ability to engage parents as learning partners to promote teachers’ performance.
- Experience in design, plan, and implement non-classroom, recreational and outdoor educational activities.
- Previous experience working with refugees, internally displaced persons, or at-risk youth
- Excellent knowledge of the English Language.
- Creativity in teaching low literacy classes.
- Understanding of the implementation of psychosocial support programs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Required Technical Knowledge and skills
The following knowledge and skills are required of a teacher in his/her assigned area:
- Learning Planning and Assessment. Knowledgeable about strategies, planning practices, assessment techniques to ensure student learning in a standards-based curriculum.
- Learning subjects. Knowledgeable in the common learning subjects such as computer, arts, and physical education, civics, livelihoods, entrepreneurship, sciences.
- Classroom Management. Knowledgeable about classroom practice in order to successfully manage time, communications, and record keeping procedures that will support and enhance student learning.
- Inclusive education and individualization of instruction. The teacher is responsive to the needs and experiences children bring to the classroom, including those based on culture, community, ethnicity, economics, linguistics, and innate learning abilities. The teacher is knowledgeable about learning exceptionalities and conditions that affect the rate and extent of student learning and is able to adapt instruction for all students.
