Deputy Chief of PartyDemocracy International (DI) is seeking to hire a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for the anticipated five-year Engagement with Voters for Equitable Representation Activity (EVER) in Libya funded by USAID. The goal of the activity is to improve the effectiveness of key Libyan institutions and build the capacity of a diverse set of Libyan actors to advance the democratic political transition, including national and local elections, and support a stronger more inclusive democratic culture in Libya. The Activity will improve the institutional capacity of the High National Election Commission and Libyan civil society to engage with Libyan communities across the country to engage in political processes at the national and subnational levels. The DCOP will work closely with the Chief of Party (COP) in overseeing program operations and will have strong written and oral communication skills as well as operational, implementation experience. The incumbent will assume technical direction and oversight of the civic participation grants component of the program. S/he will be expected to interact regularly with project and Mission staff, as well as with government and civil society partners and all other stakeholders to the program. The successful candidate must be a development professional with significant international program management experience, preferably in Libya or other countries with similar settings. This will be a full-time position based in Tripoli, Libya and will be contingent on award and funding. This position is open to both Libya citizens and Expatriates.
