Job description

Overview of position | Under the overall supervision of the Project Manager (PM) and direct supervision of
the Community Engagement Officer (CE), the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for coordinating the CE and PM on a wide-range of issues associated with development and implementation of the Migrant Resource and Response Mechanism (MRRM) |
Role objectives | · In coordination with the CE Officer, design and plan community-based
activities that promote to the Community Engagement and Two-Way Communications between migrants and host community including organization of community events, focus group discussions and recreational activities. · Follow up with field teams on the dissemination of the information awareness raising activities, and track the activities outreach and implementation. · Design and review of media content and IEC materials of the awareness raising campaigns under different projects. · Coordinate and facilitate the implementation and monitoring of relevant dissemination activities in target communities, building upon a network of local and International Non-Governmental Organisation (NGOs), and community leaders; · Provide regular updates and reports about field activities as requested by the supervisor. · Support the CE Officer and PM in the development of partnerships with local actors including local government actors, embassies and other UN and I/NGOs partners working in these locations to maintain proper coordination of the activities implemented and avoid any duplication and to facilitate any referrals for support. · Prepare media visibility materials and collect photos of relevant activities as per IOM and the donor agreement standards, including social media posts, short videos, human-interest stories, and quotes from the beneficiaries and other stakeholders. · Support the supervisor to conduct capacity building and information sessions to the team i.e. train field staff on how to collect relevant testimonies and human migrant stories, how to take good photos, dissemination of awareness guidance etc. · Ensure gender mainstreaming throughout activities, addressing protection, social, environmental and other relevant cross-cutting concerns · Work with the Campaigns Assistant on CE team information management, and ensure all related documents are regularly saved on the MRRM CE SharePoint. · Prepare the plan and coordinate the arrangements to conduct community events relevant to MRRM activities. · Undertake duty travels to field locations i.e. Sebha, Gatroun, Ghat, Bani Waleed and other locations inside Libya, in line with prevailing security restrictions, relating to project assessments, liaison with counterparts, and project implementation, as required. · Perform such other duties as may be assigned. |
