Cesvi has zero tolerance approach to any form of abuse and sexual exploitation as well as bullying and a range of non-sexual abuse of power perpetrated by Cesvi employee and related personnel against any individual (children and adults) regardless of age, gender, sexuality, disability, religion or ethnic origin.
Cesvi takes all the complaints and concerns about violence against children and SEA seriously and it initiates rigorous investigation of complaints indicating a possible violation of safeguarding policies as well as of Cesvi Code of Conduct and of Cesvi Ethical Code.
Scope of Position:
CESVI is recruiting a CFS (Child Friendly Space) Facilitator to be responsible for delivering age and culturally appropriate activities for children. The CFS Facilitator will deliver activities for children of different ages, in order for them to be in a safe environment, develop their social and emotional skills and learn from the activities presented.
Main objectives:
• Use child-centered approaches and provide a safe environment for playing, socializing and learning according to established schedules and routines in the Child Friendly Space;
• Keep accurate and safe records of children/youth daily attendance;
• Closely follow up individual child participation in activities and identify children with special needs, internal/external referral according to needs identified;
• Ensure activities are appropriate for the developmental stage of the children present at any given day in the CFS and promote inclusive participation to the proposed activities.
Specific tasks and responsibilities:
• Adhere to Children Safeguarding Policy, PSEA Policy, code of conduct, and report concerns.
• Raise awareness of the affected communities about the safeguarding system and how to report concerns
• Lead age, gender and ability appropriate activities in the CFS and create a positive and trustful atmosphere while interacting with children and parents, encouraging them to express their needs and ensuring their feeling of safety;
• Help in setting schedules for daily/weekly activities for children, take children’s attendance for each session, keep accurate, daily updated records and safely store them;
• Closely supervise children during group play, ensure they are safe while receiving services in the CFS and appropriately handle any problems that arise in the CFS;
• Liaise with parents and caregivers present at the center, carry out awareness raising activities on key Child protection issues if needed and answer questions from community members and parents about what activities are taking place in the CFS;
• Maintain effective communication with parents/caregivers and establish professionals but caring relationships with them and their children;
• Liaise with other teams and make sure internal and external referrals are processed in a timely and confidential manner;
• Provide day to day supervision and guidance to Volunteer Animators that support in the Center
• In addition to the static center, contribute to the establishment of mobile Child Friendly Spaces, and engage in activities in outreach modality as needed.
• Work in partnership with PSS Officers to engage in structured and cyclical programming for children and young people accessing the Center and Outreach CFS sites.
• Provide supportive supervision and guidance to Animators assigned to the CFS
• Other duties as assigned by the Emergency Coordinator and Field Coordinator to enable and develop CESVI’ programs.

Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
• A degree in social work or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in community work, preferably with children.
• Experience in psychosocial support and/or child protection is desirable.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of children in a respectful and sensitive manner
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of English is an asset.
