Position: Warehouse Assistant
Location: Benghazi
Reporting to: WH Manager-Tripoli
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Assistant plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of a warehouse by providing support in various tasks. They are responsible for assisting with inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment. The Warehouse Assistant works closely with the warehouse team to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of goods.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in receiving incoming shipments, verifying their contents, and entering relevant data into the inventory management system.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling items according to specified requirements.
- Accurately update inventory records and perform regular stock checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to organize and optimize the layout of the warehouse for efficient product storage and retrieval.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to move and transport goods within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment by sweeping, cleaning spills, and removing debris.
- Assist in conducting regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and resolve inventory-related issues.
- Assist in conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing goods to ensure they meet specified standards.
- Collaborate with the shipping department to prepare shipping documents, such as bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Assist in the assembly and packaging of products as per customer orders or company requirements.
- Assist in conducting regular maintenance checks on warehouse equipment and report any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in coordinating with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any delivery-related issues.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of all warehouse activities, including incoming and outgoing shipments, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and other warehouse personnel.
- Collaborate with other team members and provide support in various warehouse tasks as needed.

- Reporting
• Report to supervisor weekly and agree on plans for the following period - Compliance
• Ensure compliance with IMC policies and procedures, donor regulations and local laws. - Working Relationships
- Proactively engage with your supervisor, and key staff (Program, Finance, and Medical) on all
matters of logistics.
- Representation
- Represent IMC in a positive and professional manner to contribute to the creation of a positive
image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of IMC’s
mandate, ethics, values, and stand-point with regard to other actors
- Security
- Ensure the application of, and compliance with, security protocols and policies of you and your
supervised staff.
