Job Description

  • Cesvi has been one of the first INGOs intervening in Libya, as soon as the Arab Spring begun in
    2011 and is carrying out a Humanitarian Protection Program in Tripoli and Misrata within different
    settings, included Child Protection program since 2016. The translator will work, in compliance
    with CESVI policies and Code of Conduct, closely with the PSS team and occasionally with
    Persons of Concern, mainly refugees, asylum seekers and their families. S/he will be in charge of
    translating reports and documents from Arabic to English, and s/he will be responsible of any other
    duties assigned by his/her supervisor. Therefore, s/he should be able to speak and write fluently at
    least in those two languages. The duties and responsibilities listed here are representative of the
    nature and level of work and are not necessarily all inclusive.
    Specific tasks and responsibilities:
  • Translate reports and other documents from Arabic into English in a timely manner,
    coordinating with PSS team.
  • Support with translation of administration documents;
    Any other duties relating to nature of the job as may be requested by the CDC Manager or
    other relevant staff.
  • Keep abreast of developments and understand the latest information on data protection,
    confidentiality and other legal issues that impact on the protection of vulnerable groups or
    individuals.
  • Stay abreast of political, social, economic and cultural developments that have an impact on
    the protection environment for persons of concern.
  • Duty station: Tripoli
    Responsible to: S/he will report directly to the CDC Manager and functionally to the Psychologist

Note : working hours will be 6 hours per Week

Job Requirements

  1. Fluency in both Arabic and English
  2. Previous experience of work with migrant and refugee communities is an asset.
  3. Good understanding of Protection Principles and Psychosocial support is an asset.
  4. Good computer skills especially Microsoft packages.
  5. Good organizational and management skills.
  6. Ability to work with minimum supervision
