Assignment area: Zawiya, including missions within Libya (Tripoli or northwest Libya) and trainings in Tunis according to CEFA indications

About the Job

Overall Purpose of the Job:

The social worker will work into the framework of the project “CEFA LIBYA MORE RAM in Libya: More Opportunity, Resilience, and Health for Refugees, Asylum-seekers and Migrants in Libya”. The action aims to strengthening life-saving assistance for vulnerable migrants, asylum seekers and refugees, through the enhancing access of basic needs and basic health services in the municipality of Zawiya (LIBYA) with specific priority on vulnerable categories such as women, children, and minors unaccompanied.

 

Main Tasks:

 

All the following tasks will be carried out in under the supervision of the Operation Coordinator and the overall responsibility of the Project Manager:

  • The SW will follow all the activities needed to assure the actual participation and involvement of the beneficiaries in the project activities through the identification, collection and management of data and figures regarding to basic and health needs to improve the beneficiaries’ live conditions.
  • Collaborate in the design of questionnaires and contribute to the data collection in order to identify the needs and the cases in which to intervene. Collect information through questionnaires, physical observation and any other data collection techniques, thanks also to her/his knowledge of the area and community.
  • Planning and conducting the protection monitoring activities in the targeted urban areas in order to gather data and assess the vulnerability of migrants and refugees.
  • Collect and manage the sensitive data of the beneficiaries in a structured form and develop the case health management’s dossiers.
  • Support during the items distributions and home visits ensuring that the beneficiaries are fully aware of the activities and informed about the activities.
  • Assist the beneficiaries during the implementation of the action: follow the health cases and accompanying the beneficiaries to the health access services/needs.
  • assist the M&E officer and collaborate for the regular monitoring activities.
  • Ensure a weekly update and report.
  • Maintaining documentation of the activities and assisting in tracking data related to beneficiaries, compiling, and reporting the data.
  • Communicate to the Operation Coordinator any relevant fact that might affect the implementation of the project.
  • Contributing to map all stakeholders and services available in the area of intervention to ensure coordination and proper external referrals.
  • Represent CEFA in a professional manner in meetings and ensure good cooperation with local partners and other relevant actors.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams, trainings and meetings.
  • Assist in performing other tasks as requested by the Operation Coordinator and Project Manager.

 

Monitoring, Reporting, and Assessment:

 

  • Provide timely inputs to Operation Coordinator and Project Manager for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Provide inputs to the M&E officer in the indicator plans and work plans as needed.
  • In collaboration with the Operation Coordinator, create a weekly schedule for site visits and activities.
  • Share regular progress reports about the achievements and challenges in implementation of the activities with the line manager.

 

Required:

Experience and technical competencies:

 

  • Based in Zawiya, previous working experience in Zawiya is desirable.
  • Minimum 1 years of working experience with an international NGO and around 1 years in field-based position.
  • Proficient in computer skills (MS-Excel, MS-Word, Outlook, Gmail, etc.).
  • Able to work with tight deadlines and under minimum supervision.
  • Excellent Communication and Organizational skills.
  • Excellent Team Working skills.
  • Very strong communication skills, with good understanding of relevant cross-cultural and sensitive issues and ability to gain trust and to build relationships with local authorities and new communities.
  • Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting.
  • Strong ability to maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, and work in a difficult environment.
  • Flexible with working hours.
  • Strong analytical skills and able to handle pressure well.
  • Experience in participatory approach and community outreach is desired.

  

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field – social work, social sciences international development/relations, public/business administration, low or other related disciplines.

 

Languages:

 

  • English and Arabic required.
