Purpose/Objectives |
INTERSOS is providing life-saving protection services: Individual Case Management (ICM), and quality
referrals. But besides ICM, INTERSOS teams also provide for collective PSS by running semi-structured social-recreational activities, with a focus on women/girls and children. |
Responsibilities/duties: |
· Identify, counsel, and follow up on individual cases identified during assessments or referred internally or by other agencies, and assess their needs for financial or material assistance. · Conduct assessment of vulnerable cases, including environmental, emotional, behavioral, and social factors as well as resources and strengths that impact the individual well-being. · Refer cases internally for specialized services provided internally and externally, and discuss the cases with the Case Management Supervisor · Ensure that the data protection protocol is respected and ensure to keep complete and well-organized records. · Provide daily updates to the Case Management Supervisor on new cases assessed. · Participate in daily staff and internal meetings led by Case Management Supervisor · Always maintain confidentiality and conduct all activities respectfully and in a way that is sensitive to the psychosocial needs of the case. · Be available to provide emergency assistance and basic emotional support for urgent cases. · Support conducting a variety of semi-structured recreational activities for beneficiaries, catering to the various psycho-social needs and interests of different beneficiary groups (adults, adolescents, children) · Facilitate the participation of all segments of the target population in the planned activities ensuring the inclusion of the most vulnerable groups. · Ensure that during all activities proper attention is paid to specific emotional and physical needs. · Monitor beneficiaries’ progress during psychosocial support activities and identify persons with unusual changes in behavior or other signs of psychosocial distress for referral for psychological counselling (internal or external referral) · Conduct focus group discussions and other participatory activities to engage community members in protection activities and to better understand their needs and interests. · Engage community volunteers in planned activities according to a planned activity schedule. · Ensure a safe, friendly and non-discriminatory environment is upheld during all activities. · Participate in and lead community-wide safety planning exercises to ensure the involvement of adolescents and their caregivers. · Use agreed-upon monitoring and evaluation tools to track their participation in activities and collect their feedback. · Maintain daily attendance registers and monthly inventory sheets for each activity conducted. · Provide regular updates and reports to the Supervisor on common threats and needs of beneficiaries. · Commit to participate in any other task in order to achieve the project overall objective. · Complete additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor. |
Qualification/level requirements
Minimum requirements |
· Hold a BA in social work – social sciences. · At least 1 year of professional experience working as a social worker in Libya, in particular individual case management for PwSN, CP, and GBV · Demonstrated familiarity with case management principles, standards, and procedures, including the relevant roll-out of SOPs for different protection typologies. · Demonstrable experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with different sectoral counterparts/referral pathways. · Very strong interpersonal skills: strong communication and diplomatic skills · Excellent computer skills (proven computer literacy) |
