JOB TITLE:                  Snr. Wellservices Engineer

OBJECTIVES OF JOB

The Snr. Wellservice Engineer plans all Sarir Oil Operations’ rig-less interventions (Slickline P&T surveys, E-line reservoir monitoring, CT acid stimulation, fishing operations and acid/sand hydraulic fracturing), Wellhead maintenance, Well Integrity and Completion- design and rig-based installations. He supports the Production Technology Manager on a daily basis.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. HSE Records
   • Ensure that all Well Intervention, Wellhead Maintenance and Completion activities are executed safely and responsibly according to good oilfield practices, company polices and procedures, and local legislation, without any personal injuries or threats to the health of individuals and without jeopardizing the environment.
   • Design all jobs with a focus on HSE
   • Ensure that all HSE procedures are followed, updated, and improved where necessary.
   • Contribute to a planned approach towards reduction of emissions, effluents and discharges that have a negative effect on the environment.
   • Maintain and sustain the integrity of all operating wells.
   • Ensure all Well Services contractors have adequate HSE systems and procedures in place

3. Mentor the junior production technology/wellservices engineer in Tripoli office.
4. Ensure that Junior Staff grow into leading roles and takes over responsibilities.
5. Utilize the systematic training of Junior staff and ensure that the training is focused on the clear needs defined in the development path.

6. Business Integrity

• Design and execute all Well Intervention, Wellhead Maintenance, and completion operations in the field on a “right-first-time” basis in adherence to the Company’s operational policies and procedures and propose improvements where necessary.
• Ensure that the technical integrity during well interventions or completions is maintained in the most optimum manner with regards to production availability and cost.
• Ensure adequate data management (including well files, completion schematics, well histories and Integrity tests) and reporting for all Well Intervention, Wellhead Maintenance, and completion operations.
• Evaluate all jobs with respect to adherence to time, cost and performance and build up a database for continuous improvement.
• Select suppliers for jobs and prepare contracts based on market evaluation in Libya.

7. Profitability

• Monitor and control Well Intervention, Wellhead maintenance and completion costs and ensure operations are executed within approved budgets.
• Minimize production impact of all Well Interventions.
• Strive to continuously reduce and optimize costs where possible in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ensure that all contracts are managed and controlled.
• Carry out special projects as assigned, this may include well completion designs with recommendations for standardisation of equipment, artificial lift systems.
• Responsible for the application of relevant existing and new technology (e.g., monobore well design, expandables and chemical water shut-off).
• Provide production technology duties as requested

8. Investment Projects

• Contribute towards preparation of investment proposals and Field Development Plans
• Provide assistance to all colleagues where wellservices and work-over projects are being considered to ensure that accurate cost and time estimates are made.
• Stimulate the identification and application of new technology and promote an “improvement culture” amongst all staff.

9. External Relationships

• Ensure that good communication is maintained within the organisation for the best interests of Sarir Oil Operations.
• Liaise effectively with all third parties, local authorities and other SOO’s departments
• Ensure that correct procedures are maintained for the area of responsibility.

10. Qualification:

• Engineering Degree in Petroleum Engineering and/or relevant working history of 15 years in the area of well interventions.
• Onsite operational experience as Well Intervention Supervisor, Wellservice Rig supervisor, DST & Testing Supervisor.
• Experience in the design of Well Interventions, Workovers and Completion.
• Methodical approach in planning, execution, and documentation of the daily activities.
• Good computer skills, MS Office package.
• Strong team player with ability to connect different departments and people from various cultural backgrounds.
• Able to work self motivated in an organized fashion.
• Capability to motivate a team of young engineers, evaluate the workload and set priorities.
• Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written.
