Job Description

General Tasks:

  • Providing technical support based on MHPSS Specialist guidance on the implementation of MHPSS and PSS related activities, ensuring that project deliverables and activities are of high quality and in line with CESVI and International standards.
  • Provide technical support and quality enhancement to General Protection, GBV and CP case management in relation to psychosocial support components, including regular treatment plan reviews, supporting with high-risk cases, one-on-one support for staff who are implementing or supporting PSS activities, including: social workers, case workers, teachers, and supervisors. All support will be delivered in close coordination and under the guidance of the MHPSS Specialist.
  • Support the MHPSS Specialist with designing and developing PSS activities across projects, aligning material from a trauma-informed, resilience-oriented framework and supporting the streamlining of this approach across CESVI projects, adapting approach and activities based on the needs of persons receiving support.
  • Conduct regular visits to CESVI offices, community centers, and implementing CSO partners’ locations to monitor the implementation of projects with MHPSS/PSS activities, providing technical inputs for projects readjustment and feedback to staff.
  • Through monthly coordination meetings, gather technical information, feedback, and insights from the field. Translate these findings into actionable recommendations or improvements to be discussed and managed with Technical Unit and MHPSS Specialist.
  • Collaborate closely with the MHPSS Specialist and support implementation of the strategies based on the identified recommendations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and priorities.
  • Sharing MHPSS and PSS relevant updates, best practices, and other valuable information with team members and Technical Unit (when relevant, with external partners and stakeholders).
  • MHPSS staff technical support, mentoring and capacity-building. Support with recruitment of PSS staff, with MHPSS Specialist writing, and correcting technical tests and participating in interviews for PSS officers’ positions.
  • Regularly cooperate with MEAL team to ensure cross-project MHPSS activities are reported accurately and on time. Collect evidence to inform current and future programming in MHPSS area to provide support in data analysis, including sharing the information with field teams for their comprehension. Identify evidence/knowledge gaps and work with MEAL to suggest options to rectify.
  • In collaboration with the other specialists and technical officers, work with the MEAL Unit to improve country capacity on Protection Information Management (PIM).
  • Support CESVI to integrate trauma-informed, resilience-oriented care across its projects.
  • Support in incorporating GBV and child protection principles into PSS activities for children and GBV survivors, with support from Child Protection and GBV Technical Officers.
  • Act as focal point for all cross project and external referrals for MHPSS cases in need for support.
  • Responsible for updating MHPSS service maps and referral pathways information across projects.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience working in social services, GBV and Protection.
  • Experience with NGOs and INGOs is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of international MHPSS approaches, and tool development.
  • Skill in data review and analysis, especially from MEAL sources.
  • Ability to convey technical information clearly, strong written and oral skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
  • Excellent self-motivation skills.
  • Ability to travel and provide mobile support.
  • Strong facilitation and capacity-building skills.
  • Knowledge of Child Protection Principles and Trauma-informed Care.
  • Experience training on Psychological First Aid (PFA).
