Qualification | University Degree in University degree in medicine – MBChB from an accredited institution (essential). Certificate / Diploma / Degree Level Education in Additional Degree in Public Health or any clinical discipline will be preferred (desirable). |
Sector experience | Minimum of Strong level of analytical skills and computer literacy year/s of demonstrable relevant Information Technology experience (essential). Minimum of 3 to 5 years of demonstrable professional experience in the domain of clinical practice, public health; including in the context of humanitarian situations; experience of working within the health system of Libya would be preferred year/s of demonstrable relevant Public Health experience (desirable). Minimum of Demonstrated skills of responding and managing medical emergencies and able to take quick medical decisions year/s of demonstrable relevant experience in medical response & training, including trauma care, emergency medical procedures & lifesaving techniques, particularly in a military, security, humanitarian, conflict, post conflict experience (essential). Minimum of Experience in implementing health services for migrants, refugee and displaced persons and other vulnerable groups; including early recovery or post crisis emergency health programing would be an added advantage year/s of demonstrable relevant public health, health planning, health management & monitoring, health service delivery, or health system development experience (desirable). Minimum of Experience in coordinating and liaising with government authorities, knowledge and structures and functions of public health care system of Libya year/s of demonstrable relevant Other experience (essential). |
Geographical experience | Minimum of 2 year/s of experience in MENA (essential). |

Role objectives | Responsibilities and Accountabilities Core Functions / Responsibilities:
– – Systematically plan and implement medical screenings according to the organizational and national standards and guidelines
– – Perform quality check of migrants forms to ensure accurate completion and adherence to the various technical instructions;
– – Assist the management of medical condition/s identified during the medical screening before the migrant is fit to travel
– Prepare medical files within the electronic programs: Web MIMOSA;
– – Maintain collaborative working relationship with partners to ensure quality migration health activities;
– – Regularly conduct quality control of laboratory and radiology department in accordance with all requirements for IOM medical examinations.
– – Train and supervise staff involved in medical screenings procedures at the policlinic and laboratories;
– – Prepare documentation and provide necessary procurement for medical flights;
– – Act as a medical escort assisting sick patient travelling under within country or abroad.
– – Coordinate medical procurements related to the medical screening programs;
– – Ensure medical logistics/ equipment through daily checklist to ensure that all medical kits are ready and fully stocked with all medical supplies organized, listed, and within the expiration period;
– – Prepare reports, statistics and program updates as necessary;
– – Ensure the confidentiality of the medical information of IOM beneficiaries.
– – Undertake duty travels as required.
– Undertake other related duties as assigned. |
