Position Title: Medical Doctor (Gynecologist).

Position Reports to: Medical Coordinator.

Field Site: Tripoli.

Date Needed: 1st April, 2021.

 

Essential Responsibilities:
Tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide medical consultations and appropriate medical treatment focusing in Sexual and reproductive health care to beneficiary’s daily basis during working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during working days from Sunday to Thursday at the targeted health facilities.
  • Supervision of the midwife, and ensuring quality of care in the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) in the PHCs centers with coordination between the team and medical coordinator.
  • To demonstrate the clinical skills required to diagnose and dealing with COVID-19 cases in front of targeted health facilities.
  • Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Sexual Transmitted Infections (STI): ensures good quality of Prevention Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) activities for all pregnant women. Ensures that counselling services are done appropriately following protocols before doing HIV testing.
  • To help the MOH staff at the primary health care center to follow national, MOH and WHO standards, including rules of disinfection and personal and patient protection, and proper ways of disposal of sharps and medical wastes.
  • Provide short capacity building lectures and on-job training on topics related to primary health care to MOH staff at the PHC.
  • Obtain appropriate information and maintain sufficient patient records as needed
  • Provide patients with correct information regarding his/her conditions
  • Ensures patient confidentiality.
  • Ensure good documentation of the patient clinical findings, vital signs monitoring and treatments.
  • Ensures that diagnosis, management and treatment are properly done according to IMC clinical guidelines and SOPs.
  • Follow-up patients as appropriate including those referred to higher facilities if needed.
  • Perform regular health promotion and health education sessions for beneficiaries as needed.
  • Inform his/her supervisor of any needs in the health facility for prompt action.
  • Provide a regular written and verbal update and reports regarding activities conducted including daily and weekly reports and daily data collection report on morbidity and services provided.
  • Submit monthly drug ways of utilization and consumption repot to supervisor when needed.
  • Ensures universal precautions followed at all times contributes to reducing biohazard risk and infection control improvements. Assure general compliance with standing hygiene standards by his/her team.
  • Follow security protocols including: provide travel updates on a daily basis to security focal point and supervisor.
  • Attend and participate regular country and program meetings as scheduled.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by his/her supervisor for the fulfillment of program objectives

Qualifications:

  • Registered medical doctor, post-graduate qualifications in Obs/gynecology.
  • At least 4-5 years’ clinical experience with Ability to use U/S for OBS/GYN diagnostic.
  • Able to provide treatment and assistance to all individuals needing his/her care.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to work in resource limited settings, especially peripheral areas in Libya.
  • Able to provide feedback/reports regarding work -related activities.
  • Able to speak read and write in Arabic and English.
  • Experience in providing clinical tutorial, medical lectures and capacity building sessions is very desirable.

Language Skills:
Arabic as a native language, fluency in English.

Computer Skills:

  • Able to use basic operating systems like windows.
  • Able to use main office applications: Word, Excel, and Power point.
  • Ability to manage Emails is required.

Other Comments:

  • Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.
  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time by supervisors.
