Job Summary:

The role of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer is to implement the MEAL work plan and contribute to achieving and improving the quality of the program/project. The MEAL Officer will follow up on progress and collect data on the effectiveness of planned interventions by collecting and supporting the data analysis and design of tools. The MEAL Officer plays an important role in carrying out MEAL activities in the field, including field monitoring and verification, baseline and end-line assessments, needs assessment and surveys.

Main Tasks:
Tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist the MEAL Manager in the implementation of the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Plan.
  • Build and maintain a project work plan to monitor and track the planned assessment.
  • Review, clean and analyze all project data.
  • Assist MEAL Manager in producing monthly factsheets on project progress.
  • Assist MEAL Manager in training field teams on data collection.
  • Coordinate and follow up with the MEAL assistants daily with assessment updates.
  • Review, clean and help the MEAL Manager analyze assessment and regular project monitoring data.
  • Engage in learning sessions to build internal capacity on the utilization of M&E tools and application of M&E
  • approaches.
  • Conduct field visits if needed.
  • Support the MEAL team in data validation and data quality assessments regularly.
  • Update the project databases.
  • Any other duty deemed necessary for the fulfilment of MEAL objectives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A university degree in a related field is required. A high school diploma with relevant experience might be considered;
  • Experience in working with NGOs, INGOs and other relevant organizations;
  • A minimum of 1-year experience in dealing with data, including data collection, verification, management and analysis;
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint;
  • Experience working with migrants and Internally Displaced Persons with different backgrounds is preferred;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic languages;
  • Good organizational skills and excellent self-motivation skills;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and many administrative details in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
