ICT Specialist 1

The position will be based in ICRC Tripoli (TRI)

JOB DESCRIPTION – ICT Specialists:

The ICT Specialists is an expert who is in charge of technical infrastructure, system and user support for the Area of Responsibility (TRI) covering Tripoli sub delegation and help other sub delegations in Libya. S/he manages, install and manage ICT infrastructure based on defined standards and recommendation from their technical hierarchy.  S/he designs, installs, maintains and ensures optimal performance of standard ICT systems. And provide the user support needed.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Offers 1st and 2nd  level service desk support to users in Tripoli  and other ICRC offices in Libya
• Installs, updates and maintains ICT and Telecom infrastructure of all ICRC offices in Libya .
• Manages ICT stock and inventory database.
• Ensures that global/country-level policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
• Briefs, advises and trains end-users on the ICRC’s ICT systems.
• Drafts and updates technical documentation for all IT equipment.
• Carries out the duties of ICT Specialist 2 when s/he is absent.
• ICT Inventory Attribution and Management.
• ICT Services, System and Infrastructure support.

Education and experience required:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education degree in ICT domain (Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer science or similar field.
• 2 years of experience in IT, electronics or similar position.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Skilled in the following competencies: Adapting & Learning; Planning, Organization & Assessment; Communication (Ability to express views and ideas); Analysis & Synthesis.
• Understanding of telecom especially VHF, HF and satellite.
• Creative and proactive attitude.
• Open-minded and non-judgemental.
• Willingness to travel all over Libya and internationally when required.
• Capacity to apply ICRC rules and procedure.
• Interest for humanitarian activities (especially ICRC’s).
• Excellent organizational and methodical abilities, sense of initiative.
• Service oriented with a strong sense for setting of priorities and flexibility.
