Job Overview

A foreign construction company is looking for a safety, health and environment assistant according to the following job description:-

HSE Assistant officer

Duties of the Occupational Safety and Health Assistant:

1- Planning and setting up permits for safe work

2- Ensuring the status and appointment of the qualified employee to practice the work

3- Always use approved quality tools and equipment

4- Educating workers before starting work

5- Integration of equipment before starting work, the most important of which are safety tools to be provided

6- Ensure the integrity of fire prevention and control equipment

7- Monitoring workers and ensuring that they work in the correct and safe manner.

8- Gas test in confined spaces.

9- Preparing daily reports.

10- Laying the foundations for communication and work close to the station

11- Discovering the dangers and knowing the type of danger in all work areas.

Among his duties:

  1. Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to occupational safety
  2. Knowledge of the laws relating to safety requirements in its management and facilities
  3. Those responsible for security and safety
  4. Familiarity with, commitment and application of safety laws and legislation
  5. Report any deficiencies or defects in safety systems
  6. Ensure the availability of safety equipment and supplies at work
  7. Ensure that all personal protection equipment is provided at work
  8. Ensuring the implementation of all laws and safety legislation at work by workers
  9. Ensure the completion of an assessment, assessment and analysis of risks for all workplaces
  10. Ensure the completion of an evaluation and assessment of all devices, machinery and equipment
  11. Conducting a periodic inspection of safety procedures in the workplace
  12. Conduct periodic inspection of emergency exits and fire equipment
  13. Ensuring the implementation of the safety policy set by the facility or establishment
  14. Ensure that new workers are trained in the basics of safety for the work they are assigned to
  15. Knowing the requirements and means of safety in his workplace, the ways of using them, and the types and means of safety available
  16. Studying workers’ complaints regarding occupational safety and submitting them to officials

Skills needed for the job:

  • In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety guidelines and practices.
  • Proficiency in preparing and preparing reports and developing policies.
  • Ability to implement occupational health and safety training programmes.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
  • The ability to communicate with different personalities and provide advice.
  • Possession of an analytical mind and the ability to follow minute details
  • English language, advanced level, written and spoken

Job requirements:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Previous work experience
