Qualification Bachelor’s in – University degree in medicine from an accredited institution; – A post graduate degree in gynaecology and obstetrics is must.; – Strong level of analytical skills and computer literacy – Minimum of three years of professional experience in the domain of gyne/obs after postgraduation – Experience in the context of humanitarian situations and experience of working within the health system of Libya would be preferred – Earlier experience in migrants health related issues is preferred (essential).
Sector experience Minimum of Earlier experience in migrants health related issues is preferred year/s of demonstrable relevant Migration experience (desirable).
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of demonstrable professional experience in the domain of clinical practice, public health; including in the context of humanitarian situations; experience of working within the health system of Libya would be preferred; year/s of demonstrable relevant humanitarian assistance experience (desirable).
Minimum of Demonstrated skills of responding and managing medical emergencies and able to take quick medical decisions. – Experience in implementing health services for migrants, refugee and displaced persons and other vulnerable groups; including early recovery or post crisis emergency health programing would be an added advantage – Experience in coordinating and liaising with government authorities, knowledge and structures and functions of public health care system of Libya; year/s of demonstrable relevant Healthcare experience (desirable).
Minimum of Strong level of analytical skills and computer literacy year/s of demonstrable relevant data analysis experience (desirable).
Geographical experience Minimum of 2 year/s of experience in MENA (desirable).
Languages Fluent in Arabic (essential).
Fluent in English (essential).
Working level in French (desirable).

Overview of position Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Role objectives – Organize visits to the IOM-MHD service points (clinics, Detention Centers, community outreach locations) and provide RH and maternal health care services to the female migrants and IDPs.

– Assessing the reproductive health needs (especially maternal care) of migrants and displaced population, identifying priority causes of ill-health; preparing plans to address these

– Assist in the collection of the data related to the reproductive health activities conducted by IOM implementing partners in coordination with the Health Coordinator

– Coordinate the implementation of IOM’s Migration Health activities related to maternal, new born and child health with UN/NGOs/INGOs partners, and assist in identifying gaps and needs related to the health of migrants

– Organize, oversee and implement RH and maternal health related activities performed by IOM implementing partners in consultation with the Health Coordinator,

– Assist the implementing partners in clinical and non-clinical activities to ensure continuous provision of quality migration health services.

– Provide maternal health and other clinical services to female migrants and displaced population in need and coordination such activities with MHD medical teams.

– Ensure that quality control/quality assurance procedures are adopted and followed while providing medical care to female patients, especially during pregnancy up to the national and

IOM global standards.

– Ensure that infection prevention and control mechanisms are in place and followed at the points of service provision

– Assist in the management of urgent medical cases in coordination with the IOM medical teams including to public and private sector hospitals

– Ensure the confidentiality of the medical information of IOM beneficiaries.

– Undertake duty travels as required.

– Undertake other related duties as assigned.
