Job Description:

We seek a talented Geologist to join our client’s dynamic team.

As a Geologist with our agency, you will play a pivotal role in exploring and developing oil and gas reserves. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating geological data, identifying potential drilling sites, and maximising production efficiency.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work as a vital member of the geoscience team to evaluate prospects,

• Prepare surface and subsurface maps depicting stratigraphic arrangement,
• Generate structural models including seismic interpretation and analysis, geologic interpretation, rock property analysis, mapping, structural framework creation in time and depth conversion,
• Perform facies modelling,

• Geological Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of geological data, including seismic surveys, well logs, and core samples, to assess the viability of oil and gas reserves.
• Prospect Evaluation: Evaluate potential drilling sites based on geological characteristics, risk factors, and economic considerations.
• Reservoir Modelling: Utilize advanced software and modelling techniques to characterise reservoirs and optimise production strategies.
• Field Development Planning: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive field development plans, incorporating geological, engineering, and economic factors
• Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate geological risks associated with exploration and production activities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Technical Reporting: Prepare clear and concise technical reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and project status to stakeholders.
• Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in geological exploration and reservoir management.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Geology or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in geological exploration and reservoir evaluation within the oil and gas industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in geological mapping, reservoir characterisation, and reservoir modelling software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, Geographix).
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex geological data and make informed decisions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and effectively contribute to project objectives.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to work in diverse environments and adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
