.A finance manager is responsible for managing the financial Hospital in order to promote success and growth while maintaining legal financial practices. Their duties typically include financial planning to determine how to pay off liabilities and grow the business, reviewing financial documents to ensure tax-compliance and collaboration with other departments to achieve monetary goals

Finance Manager Responsibilities

• Finance Managers are responsible for advising an organization on how to increase profit through prudent financial practices and monitoring and enforcing compliance with finance-related laws, procedures and regulations such as tax filing and financial reporting. They often have the following duties:
• Perform financial management duties including generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, analyzing industry trends and assessing the financial health of the company.
• Oversee the operations and development of the Hospital finance departments including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.
• Supervise the preparation of quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and assist with cash flow forecasting.
• Advise colleagues and executive management on decisions related to the Hospital finances.
• Supervise the documentation of the Hospital financial status and forecasts.
• Mediate between the organization, employees, stakeholders, shareholders and investors on financial issues for amicable resolution of differences.
• Create strategic business plans based on the analysis of the Hospital’s status and financial forecasts.
• Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the Hospital
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting
• Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership
• Support project analysis, validation of plans, and ad-hoc requests
• Manage the Hospital’s financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
• Finding ways to reduce or maintain costs by studying financial reports and business processes.
• Analyzing market trends to discover business opportunities and maximize profits.
• Develop new metrics for driving business performance relative to strategic priorities and minimizing risk
• Execute accurate reporting that enables sound analysis and financial recommendations

Qualifications for Finance Manager

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA a plus
• 5-8 years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis
• Ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into actionable information
• Ability to work and effectively communicate with senior-level business partners
• Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills
• Knowledge of financial reporting and data mining tools such as SQL, Access, etc.
• Strong demonstrated use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
