A Libyan public company specializing in oil operations would like to hire the following:

RESPONSIBLE FOR:   E&P Databases/ Applications Administrator

LOCATION                  Tripoli                           Work Mode: official office working time           

OBJECTIVES OF JOB

Application Support Engineer oversee the installation and keep maintaining of software applications in order to streamline E&P business operations. his duties include optimizing software usage performance, installing updates, and performing debugging procedures according to software vendor instructions and integrate existing application databases whenever required to improve business workflows.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Handle and monitor all FieldPro activities (among others maintain data integrity, data loading operations, reports customization and provision of DB and application data backups).
2. Synchronize FieldPro Database with various other Databases and management systems (Jakhira FieldPro Installation, Archive Databases ( (WAD)), GeoFrame, Recall) in Tripoli
3. Handle data import / export to and from our main Geology/Geophysics Applications (Petrel, Interactive Petrophysics, Eclipse, OVS)
4. Installation of Updates and Patches both on the FieldPro Server and Clients.
5. Develop inhouse applications whenever that required to enhance business process and workflows.
6. Written documentation of relevant business processes.
7. Work together with ICT/DM team to further improve Data Management in SOO.
8. Work back to back with another member of the DM team on additional applications/systems (depending on workload).
9. Supporting IP21 application in the office and field site.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

1. IT programmer or experience geoscientist with a university degree in computer science or an equivalent
2. Industry experience in administration of E&P applications, database integration.
3. Understanding of programing languages, import/export data in different format.
4. Familiarity with Oracle /SQL databases capacity and performance, & applications certified requirements.

Key Skills:

• Data Management / Computer skills:
  • knowledge in operating systems.
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of scripting languages and programming like awk, python, perl, C++, Java and Ruby.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SQL, SQLplus and database query procedures
  • Intermediate knowledge of Data Base Systems (SQLServer and/or ORACLE) and their administration
  • Preferably firm in handling Geoscientific data in various formats
  • Preferably knowledge in geoscientific applications like Petrel, Openwork’s ,etc
  • Experienced MS-Office user (Word, Excel, Access)
• Geoscience, drilling, Production skills:
  • Knowledge of understanding of geological, geophysical and production workflow procedures and applications requirements.
  • Basic understanding of the concepts of stratigraphy, lithology and geological time scale.

Communications and Soft skills:

• Communications skills, the ability to professionally communicate with direct reporting team members and line managers.
