General context of the project
INTERSOS is an Italian humanitarian organization that aims to provide immediate response, protection and durable solutions to populations affected by humanitarian crises, assisting the most vulnerable groups.
In Libya INTERSOS is active since 2018, operating in 3 bases, across West, East and South. INTERSOS in Libya aims to alleviate suffering of the most vulnerable population groups in Libya, in particular with a focus on access to essential services and strengthen capacity of local authorities, local organizations and communities to prevent and mitigate the effects of the protracted crisis in Libya, developing a protection conducive environment and enhancing community resilience, with programs focused on Education, Protection, Health, WASH/public works and Livelihoods/Food Security.
Project description:
INTERSOS is providing life-saving protection services: Individual Case Management (ICM), and quality referrals. But besides ICM, INTERSOS teams also provide for collective PSS by running semi-structured social-recreational activities, with a focus on children and women/girls.
Purpose /Objectives:
The Data Entry is responsible for processing, management and reporting of data regarding: protection, education and WASH activities, and any other sectors, implemented by INTERSOS and its local partner CSOs.
The data entry officer report to the relevant Activity Coordinators, Project Managers and Reporting Officers on weekly and monthly basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fill the weekly report (databases) with the data regarding all activities.
- Check reports from relevant project staff and liaise with the team and activity coordinator to make the necessary corrections if needed.
- Collect and manage databases professionally: data collection and insertion.
- Update on a weekly basis the internal databases for all the activities and share it with the Activity Coordinator/Project Manager and Reporting Officer.
- Collaborate with the Activity Coordinator to provide information for the monthly and ad hoc reports for each area of responsibility.
- Prepare/update monthly overview of cases and ensure a regular analysis of this data.
- Assist in providing information and analysis for trend analyses
- Translate any documents related to the activities (Arabic-English)
- Upon availability and request provide ad hoc support to program and MEAL department with verification/PDM exercises.
Any other task requested in order to achieve the project’s objectives.
Always ensure confidentiality and conduct all activities respectfully and sensitively to beneficiaries and staff.

- Clear & timely communications to line management

Qualification/level requirements
Minimum requirements
- BA diploma
- Excellent computer skills (proven computer literacy), especially in excel
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience, with data entry related tasks in NGO/humanitarian sector
- Familiarity with NGO/humanitarian basic terminology
- Demonstrated familiarity with data protection and confidentiality
- Knowledge of KOBO and ODK programmes for smart tool data collection would be as asset.
