JOB DESCRIPTIONS – Cashier

POSITION TITLE:                            Cashier

REPORT TO:                                   Finance Manager

POSITION CONCEPT:

Responsible for receiving and recording the proceeds of all cash transactions relating to after sales activities.

Responsible for recording and reporting all credit transactions relating to after sales activities so that collections can be made on a timely basis by the appropriate collection personnel.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for receiving payment for all cash transactions undertaken on site prior to departure of the customer.
• Responsible for safe storage of cash received and that it is secured according to company policy outside normal working hours.
• Responsible for ensuring that cash held on site does not exceed designated limits but is maintained at a sufficient level such as not to inhibit normal business
• Always ensure company credit policy is maintained
• Responsible for recording all credit transactions undertaken by the division and reporting on a timely basis to the appropriate collection
• Responsible for issuing cash to designated managers, within defined limits and for genuine and approved company requirements, supported by the appropriate documentation and
• Perform other duties as assigned by immediate

REQUIREMENTS:

• Work experience as a Retail Cashier or in a similar role in sales
• Basic PC knowledge
• Familiarity with electronic equipment, like cash register and POS
• Good math skills
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Customer satisfaction-oriented
• High School Education
