Overview of position	Within the Regional Framework for the Arab States 2023-2028, and under the overall guidance of the Regional Representative for the Middle East and North Africa, the Our clien program office in Libya is implementing the programme ‘Developing Juvenile Justice in Libya’ together with Our client and UNICEF. This joint programme combines the strengths of the participating UN organizations Our clien, UNICEF and Our clien in an effort to support the national authorities to promote a child-friendly justice system for children in contact with the law, including those deprived of their liberty, within the framework of the UN Child Rights Convention (CRC) and other relevant international and national legal instruments. Within the framework of this joint programme, Our clien is supporting the national authorities with improving detention conditions for juveniles and promoting a child-friendly justice system in Libya, including through capacity building of staff working with juveniles and strengthening rehabilitation and reintegration programmes for children in conflict with the law.
Role objectives	The Architect will work under the overall guidance and supervision of the clients project officer, and together with our client – Libya Engineering Unit. The Architect will assist in the implementation of the projects’ activities together with our client Engineering Team: i) As part of the rapid needs assessment mission, assess the damage to key infrastructure and provide architecture services support and advice. ii) Based on the agreed action plan, draft, technical specifications, bill of quantities, and other required bidding documents for the rehabilitation works and required equipment; iii) Monitor and provide quality control of all the rehabilitation works. The Architect will also develop architectural drawings for all required construction activities. Architectural drawings, though not limited to the following, shall include: • Architectural drawings of constructions. • Floor plans / Furniture design with location plans, • Floor plan/ Floor covering • Lighting Plan for Ceilings • Interior elevations and sections. • Details and design of all fixed furniture. • Metalwork, woodwork, and joinery drawings. • Detailed floor finish/patterns drawings. • Miscellaneous decorative details. • Reflected ceiling plans (showing height, materials, finishes, and decorative lighting).
