Engineering Manager

Job Brief:

responsible for planning and coordinating projects, supervising teams, and researching new products. They develop strategies, manage budgets, and ensure successful project execution. They work closely with teams and collaborate with other management personnel.

Job Duties:

1. Works with Project Manager, E&C Engineering team and Director – Engineering on all engineering related aspects to ensure on time and cost-effective project execution.
2. Ensures quality of engineering technical design and deliverables of both direct and subcontracted work complying with contract and government regulatory requirements and supports the overall project schedule.
3. Manages the administration of engineering including interfaces with document control, review and approval matrices, document numbering, conformance to comments and all other administrative functions of managing the engineering effort.
4. Provides leadership in review and approval of project issues such as design basis/assumptions, heat & material balance, equipment and material selection, operation & maintenance and compliance with design standards and environmental regulations.
5. Attends and participates in all project key meetings organized by Project Manager and Director of Engineering. Conducts technical coordination meetings with relevant parties.
6. Reviews drawings, schedules, specifications, and permits to ensure compliance with project requirements. Makes sound technical decision for FEED and/or EPC Contractor to avoid a stop and/or hold of the project construction activities.
7. Works collaboratively with the Project Manager, Construction Manager and Operations Manager and the members of project leadership to ensure timely deliverables and proper and efficient interface management between the three functions of Engineering and Procurement, Construction and Operations.
8. Works with the E&C Construction Manager to review engineering plans for plant constructability, operability and maintainability.
9. Participates in the development and coordination of required vendor equipment and shop inspections.
10. Reviews and provides input on contractor payments and change order requests.
11. Provides technical support as required to field engineering.
12. Collaborates with Commissioning and Start-up engineers to facilitate start-up sequence of the project and ensures efficient turnover of plant to operations and maintenance staff.
13. Coordinates review of project engineering activities with the operations and maintenance staff.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
   Master’s Degree in Engineering or business degree. Preferred
2. Experience 5+ years of energy industry experience.
3. Project management skills.
4. Strong knowledge of quality assurance and control practices.
5. Team player with demonstrated ability to influence and manage a team to get results.
6. Strong knowledge in engineering and construction standards, materials, and companies/vendors processes.
7. Sound knowledge of engineering processes.
8. Knowledge of the diverse types of equipment in the facility.
