ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE
Under the overall guidance of the Protection Coordinator, the direct supervision of the Senior Protection Associate and in close coordination with other relevant units of the programme, the incumbent will assist in the planning, coordination, implementing & monitoring of IOM Libya protection case management activities in Tripoli.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.Supervise CTG case management staff based in Tripoli.
2.Provide consistent support, guidance, direction & quality oversight to case management services, including the identification, assessment and referral of beneficiaries to appropriate services.
3.Distribute tasks among case workers, set work plans & closely monitor performance.
4.Promote continuous learning & peer to peer support initiatives among case workers.
5.Review all case files, approve recommended interventions, ensure regular case status meetings & lead case conference meetings for individuals as needed.
6.Respond to urgent cases outside of regular working hours whenever required.
7.Promote and maintain good standards of work & adherence to protection principles with full beneficiary participation in accordance with & respect for the SOP’s.
8.Provide the team with technical guidance, capacity building & direction for effective planning, implementation & monitoring of activities.
9.Liaise with other IOM departments & organizations to implement multidisciplinary case management plans & ensure smooth referrals & coordination mechanisms are in place.
10.Coordinate closely with data management colleagues in the maintenance of all protection related case management records & files in line with IOM data protection principle, ensure timely and quality reporting by protection case workers, provide statistics & reports as required.
11.Contribute in designing & delivering capacity building trainings to local actors &communities on case management & other relevant initiatives.
12.Assist senior protection staff in the strategic & operational planning of IOM Libya protection activities as it pertains to case management.
13.Assist the Senior protection staff in Coordinating with IOM focal points in Countries of Origin (CoO) and liaise with embassies and governments, in order to ensure provision of targeted assistance to migrants returning home
14.Contribute to project proposals, reports, standard operational procedures, meetings, multi department planning & other documents as required.
15.Liaise with Libyan authorities & humanitarian partners as requested.
16.Perform other duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor degree from an accredited academic institution in Political or Social Sciences, Development Studies, Human Rights, Communication, International Relations or Law, or relevant field; with Four years’ experience in a relevant field.
High School degree with six years of relevant professional experience
EXPERIENCE
- At least 4 years of work experience in the field of migration and/or protection
- Prior experience in working with mixed migrant population on protection and direct assistance
- Experience in communicating and working with a wide range of actors, including people of culturally diverse backgrounds, government and authorities, humanitarian actors (UN agencies and NGOs).
- Computer literacy and skills with specific proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications .e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Knowledge of Case Management Software;

LANGUAGES
Fluency in English and Arabic (oral and written)
Working knowledge of French is an advantage.
