Diploma, Education Level & Minimum Experience Bachelor’s degree in education or Social science

Experience of 1 year in a similar position, preferably in iNGO

Driving License

Pack Office.

Main Purpose of the position The Education Focal Point will be responsible for the support to non-formal education in Misurata and Tripoli under TDH-IT in Libya, including supporting Vulnerable girls, boys, adolescents and youth to increase access to inclusive and quality formal and non-formal education. Providing Community-based child protection, psychosocial, and reintegration services for vulnerable boys and girls, including survivors of all forms of violence, children with disabilities, children on the move and children associated with armed conflict in targeted municipalities

NB: the order of the list below does not provide any kind of priorities to the objectives. They are all part of the position & must be reached.

 

Objectives 1: Center Activities

  • Coordinates with the Head of Programmes the implementation of activities in the area, through the supervision and support of the incentive teachers and community volunteers;
  • Lead the development of Education activities; both remote/distance learning and in-person education activities
  • Facilitate virtual lessons and study groups
  • Participate in training related to Education and MHPSS provided by the organization and support educators, caregivers, and social workers in retaining and utilizing knowledge and skills from complementary training
  • Deliver training to the staff of volunteers that will support educators and caregivers in delivering activities remotely and in schools/locations
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and organization of the activities for the children in the schools/Center with the staff
  • Coordinate the designated teams in-charge of the implementation of the activities for whatever is related to the preparation, implementation and documentation of the activities and associated achievements
  • Report to the Head of Programmes to update on the progress of the activities, the relationship with the educators, the participation of the staff, the general situation of the different schools/Center
  • Be responsible for working with children requiring further special education assistance
  • Be responsible for referring cases of children identified with Child Protection/MHPSS needs and/or further needs and follow established procedures for supporting the child
  • Follow up the cases referred to support the monitoring of the improvement of a child’s behavior and overall wellbeing
  • Performs all organizational and administrative work related to the Center, including reimbursement for the incentive teachers and community volunteers and regular reporting to the Head of Programmes.
  • Report punctually and maintain required documentation for operations

 

Objectives 2:  Monitors the community volunteer’s activities

  • Support the Community volunteers in the implementation of CP activities.

 

Objectives 3: Maintains regular contact with the local stakeholders, with specific focus on the migrants and IDPs communities, with the Libyan Local Community and Local Authority

Objectives 4: Participates in training and coaching sessions

  • Participates in the preparation, execution, and organization of awareness session when relevant

Objectives 5: Assesses the needs of beneficiaries and contributes to identify and refer (internally & externally) children at risk

Objectives 6:  Reports, Capitalization and Communication

  • Writes periodical reports on the activities at community level
  • Keeps a clean database of stakeholder and local partner

And any other duties seemed relevant to the position and assigned by your manager.
