Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Finance Assistant to provide support to DRC  Finance Department.

 

About the job: 

Provide financial and administrative support to DRC Finance department Team as per DRC and donor regulations and procedures. This role has a base focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines at base level. The role contributes to the development of base strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks.

 

Responsibilities will be:

  • Daily accounting (bookkeeping) according to DRC financial handbook
  • Manage petty cash and clear cash advances upon request & prepare the month end Cash reconciliations.
  • Maintain proper filing of all financial documentation (vouchers, contracts, tender documents, etc.)
  • Cash Box counting according to the financial handbook
  • Transferring payments when needed and follows up with partners’ reports
  • Routine record keeping as per department work plan
  • Correctly use DRC Dynamics functionalities in area of concern
  • Maintain Payment Tracker
  • Assist with Bank Follow up & Banking correspondence & Cash Withdrawals
  • Assist with Cash Transfer Project
  • Assist with collecting, reviewing, correcting and filing all financial progress reports from the partners
  • Support financial report preparations
  • Submit progress and status reports

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have the experience required for the job & would be willing to work as part of a team’ Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

Minimum 2 year of relevant work experience / Finance & Accounting

  • Experience with carrying out admin tasks
  • Good communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Basic proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Well-developed organizational and planning skills in order to meet deadlines
  • Advanced English proficiency

Desiered

  • Diploma or equivalent professional qualification “Finance & Accounting”

We offer

Contract length: 6 Months

Duty Station: Tripoli, Libya

Start date: 01-March-2022
