Job Description
Scope of work:
CESVI is recruiting CFS (Child Friendly Space) facilitators to be responsible for delivering age and culturally appropriate activities for children whose parents/caregivers are attending protection services at the Community Day Center (CDC). The CFS Facilitator will deliver activities for children 2 to 12 years old, in order for them to feel safe, develop their social and emotional skills and learn.
Main objectives:
- Use child-centered approaches and provide a safe environment for playing, socializing and learning according to established schedules and routines in the educational center or in different environments when needed;
- Keep accurate and safe records of children/youth daily attendance;
- Closely follow up individual child participation in activities and identify children with special needs, internal/external referral according to needs identified
- Ensure activities are appropriate for the developmental stage of the children present at any given day in the CFs and promote inclusive participation to the proposed activities
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead games and activities and regularly revise them and adapt them to the needs of the children;
- Help in setting schedules for daily/weekly activities for children;
- Closely supervise children during group play and ensure they are safe while receiving services in the CFS;
- Appropriately handle any problems that arise in the CFS;
- Create a positive and trustful atmosphere while interacting with children and parents, encouraging them to express their needs and ensuring their feeling of safety;
- Observe children with special needs and ensure they are well integrated into the activities and if needed refer them to relevant services;
- Take children’s attendance for each session, keep accurate, daily updated records and safely store them;
- Answer questions from community members and parents about what activities are taking place in the CFS;
- Ensure inclusive participation in the activities
- Promote, ensure and establish the child as a central actor in the activities
- Liaise with parents and caregivers present at the CDC, carry out awareness raising activities on key Child protection issues
- Establish internal and external referral pathway for children and caregivers, according to the needs identified
- Ability to work under changing and difficult circumstances on the field, maintaining composure and be flexible to conduct activities under any circumstances.
- Maintain effective communication with parents/caregivers and establish professionals but caring relationships with them and their children;
- Identify and provide materials required for activities preferred by children, in coordination with relevant departments and procurement procedures;
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop CESVI programs

Job Requirements
- Requirements: Bachelor/Diploma from accredited university in a related field (education, social work, psychology);
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position;
- Experience in teaching children or implementing recreational activities with children;
- Experience in implementing psychosocial support activities is an advantage;
- Sensitivity to and awareness of the psychosocial and developmental needs of children;
- Possession of technical skills such as painting, music e.tc. are considered as an asset;
- Understanding of child safeguarding policies and of safe behaviors around and towards children;
- Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to work in challenging environments and ability to adapt in a changing context are required;
